I have 12 seedlings left from a batch of about 24 which I got in Langkawi. I germinated them all in Feb 2006 and they all took off quite nicely. Whilst I was away for a couple of months in July and August I lost about half of them due to SWMBKCU not watering as briefed and they completely dried out. The rest I manage to rescue and they have come through the winter not too bad. However, there seems to be a steady decline in 7 of the 12 remaining seedlings and I don't know why.

These are kept near and or on the front East facing window sill next to a radiator, that is set to come on every morning for a couple of hours then again in the evening for about 6 hours. I water these at least once a week, sometimes twice a week if required to stop them from drying out. I also mist them 2 or 3 times a week as well.

How much water do they really need, as I think that perhaps I'm giving them too much?

There are a lot of leaflets drying up and small branches dropping off, even though there is still new growth on some  but not on others and some have second or third branches appearing from the main trunk.

Should I switch off the radiator or just move them away from it?

Perhaps the extra heat is Too much?

Should I re-pot them or leave them as they are until they recover?

Any thoughts most welcome.

Regards Andy.

Bangor, Norin Iron Zone 9a Min temp normally around -3 Degrees C, rarely -6C. Only 2 x -2.0C so far, verging on 9b this year. No snow or Frost this Winter. Several just subzero's this year, lets hope it stays this way. Normally around 5C to 10C + in winter, with lots of wind & rain. Summers usually better, 20C to 25 C occasionally 25C to 28C, also quite humid being a coastal town
