No problem on moving this plant.

If you get enough of the rootball, it will not miss a beat!

Do as little damage to the root ball as possible.  Anticipate that the roots will go deep.   Are you putting your C thouarsii into another hole in the ground or into a pot temporarily?   I have always been encouraged to note the orientation to the sun and keep the plant oriented in its new home with the same exposure.  I mark the south orientation, because that is how all the potted cycads I have bought which have an orientation notated, are marked.  I have transplanted Cycas thouarsii in the past, but mine were smaller when I did it than yours is.  They did just fine though after the transplant.  Good luck!

I guess my real question is, do these have a deep root, like some of the other cycads do? Will I have to dig six feet down to get all of it?
