Wavy Agave flowers finally bloom

I have had this wavy agave in my Leucadia garden for several years.  It put up an inflorescence a few years back, but due to the height if the flower stalk, it was top heavy and blew over in a winter wind storm.  There were pups underneath and due to severe tearing at the roots of the main plant I just removed it and let the pups grow.  So this winter one of the larger pups decided to put up a new flower stalk as well as an offset I planted in another part of the garden.  I was impressed this morning when I finally saw the rather bland yellow green flower buds had turned orange and were blooming.  They are tiny blossoms compared to some of the other Agave's I have grown, but the inflorescence is extremely tall.  I love these little flowers, it's been worth the wait!

Yours is going for the record, never seen one so elongated. Nice!

Looks like A. gypsophila "Blue Wave". Not long lived but very nice. You should have lots of offspring.

You are 100% correct on all the above.  About 2 to 4 years to putting up an inflorescence for me (one younger and two older now).  A prolific pupper, I've transplanted and given away a few offsets from the original plant which blew over before the tall inflorescence flowered.
