I'm no expert, but the one labeled "stoplight?" is Franklin D. Roosevelt or FDR.  I don't know the one below it.  Hope that helped.

Yep, the first is Franklin Roosevelt - I have 2 of them.  Have you also seen Sloppy Painter?  It looks like a yellow & green version of the Roosevelt.  Country Club Nursery over on Starkey has them.

The 2nd one - hm, if it's a small croton, it might be Batik.  The lowest leaves look a bit wide, but the upper leaves look a lot like it.

Everyone is correct on the first one, Franklin Roosevelt. Not sure on the second one. I would like to make a comment though, SunnyFl mentioned about the green and yellow form of Franklin Roosevelt being called in the trade as Sloppy Painter. Sloppy Painter is not a valid name, and because some grower here in South Florida decided he would put a fancy or catchy name on it, he would create new excitement and therefore a new croton. The real name is Eleanor Roosevelt, it's in both croton books that was written by Dr. B. Frank Brown back in the 60's and then the second book in the 90's.

Brenda,

My guesses are

1. FDR

2. Batik or Bush on Fire

Hey Jeff - I am so glad you wrote that.  I was wondering, because - to me - the so-called Sloppy Painter looked so much like the Eleanor Roosevelt, I was wondering what the difference was.
