Croton ID

Hey all, just got back from Orlando this morning.  I happened to spot this stunning croton at the convention center. Tried to find it on Palmpedia's croton encyclops diamond but had no luck. 

Any ideas?  Please and thank you.

Yes.  It has that corkscrew leaf but obviously the color is way different.

I agree with Carver- King of Siam.  Easy croton, looks great sun or shade.

The 'King Of Siam' is one of the Crotons that should do well in southern California.

That's the Wizard of Oz.  The true form of King of Siam is very different.

Is Wizard of Oz likely to do ok in SoCal?

If you are looking for the Croton in the above photos commercially you will find it as "King of Siam".  The "true" "King of Siam" (different plant than pictured) is in the hands of the Croton collectors.

Scott, anyone you would recommend as a good source for crotons....who is California Ag Certifide?  Only crotons I've been able to find locally are Mammy and a few other varieties that are probably common in Florida but not likely to do well here I am guessing.

I'd check to see if Jeff Searle can ship.  He grows over 500 different cultivars.

I'll ask him. If memory serves, he doesn't ship to CA.

'Mrs Iceton' has been bullet proof for me in Central Fl. and should also be a great one for Southern California.

  

The "Tropiscape" site has a great forum on Crotons with very helpful experienced growers that would be more than happy to help with recommendations. Join in the Forum talk there, it will help in your quests for the right varieties.
