This hybid I showed in a Brom thread a while ago but with Spring in the air colour is gaining on many of the Broms.  This Neo hybrid is from Peter  Tristram of Neoregelia  Eva X Norman Bates.      Pete

Very nice, Pete, that's a real stunner. To my eye I don't see much of Neo. Norman Bates in it....seems to be mostly Neo. Eva. That can happen in the grex........Your thoughts?

Thanks Rusty, yes I agree and glad it doesnt have much Norman Bates apart from its teeth and thickness, I do like the tones starting to come out,   where,as Eva is a very soft looking brom ,   I wouldnt buy Eva,  but Peter is making some great Xs using her and she will grow into a large Brom..  Pete

Here's 2 more just to ease the Blah with some pics :)      Pete

Peter Tristram  certainly does Rusty ,if 1 isnt quick the bulk of the best hybrids are snapped up  quickly by keen buyers in Thailand, I saw a "heap" of Killer hybrids but they where all  put aside to go to Thailand,  they  "Love" his hybrids,   which Brom addict wouldnt. :hmm:    Pete

Your Neo looks really awesome, Pete!

Does someone of you guys know if there are recommendable nurseries specializing on bromeliads around Bangkok or pattaya? I'll spend next year a few days in Thailand to see the Nong Nooch on my way back to Germany and would love to buy a few pups.

Don't know why but in Europe it's really hard to find extraordinary cultivars even though broms make outstanding indoor plants (low in maintainance and pest free in combination with a colorful and exotic appearance)!

Thanks!

Below is another beauty from Peter T thats getting darker n darker, its Tiger X Brazil red, its still got plenty of growing to do, it will end up purple black the way its going, plenty of light and very thick leathery leaves.

Hope above helps..     Pete

Pete, does it look like this one is going to have some of the size of it's carcharodon side of the cross?  Looks like it's going to be a beaut.

Thank you very much, Pete!

I will also have a look at the chatuchak markets. Heard that there is the emphasis on plants on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which is perfect since I'll leave Thailand on a Wednesday evening!

You guys have really really beautiful cultivars available here in Australia! If I would return from Australia to Germany directly, I would definitely try to obtain some here!!!

I have to admit that I'm a little envy, what's offered here and in the US.... ;-)

thanks again!

Ben

PS: your broms are really nice arranged. Love this natural look!
