Podophyllum 'Spotty Dotty'

This brilliant hybrid of several Asian Mayapples boasts large, vigorous, lobed umbrella-like leaves. New leaves are chartreuse with dramatic chocolate-brown spotting. In summer, the leaves are green with lightly spotted areas. Large garnet red flowers are found under the leaves in clusters of 5 or more. 'Spotty Dotty' was selected for its coloring, frost tolerance, vigor, and rhizomatous habit. All Podophyllum prefer shade and cool, moist, organic soils. Protect from hard frosts in spring. Avoid drought stress.  — Terra Nova.

Roger....that's a very cool plant....probably would not grow here....I have just about determined that what you grow easily there has real problems here. Everything you have sent me from your corner of the country has not survived this corner.....sucks.

Oh man, to bad they didn’t make it. Those were some choice plants. Some things we both grow like the Mimosa ‘summer chocolate’ do good on both coast, but the rest just don’t do good there because of the heat I bet.  Mayapples (like above) don’t grow here above zone 8 either.

BTW, the plant in the orange container is a giant trillium with red flowers.

Those are REALLY nice! Fortunately, they LOVE the NorthEast - and my only complaint is that they don't spread faster!
