Dave, I think some of the branches, over the fence, impeding the full width of the sidewalk, should be pruned back, as a matter of public safety !

I have heard that the trimmings should be easy to strike roots in a container of water.      :mrlooney:

Yes, I agonized over the public safety issue! B)

The real problem is I didn't have a container to put the cuttings in to keep that gooey latex from getting all over everything.

A beautiful ficus! I think this cultivar is called "Ruby"

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

Looks cool, thanks for sharing!

Howdy 🤠

great color! I've have really been getting into ficus a bunch lately

Carlsbad, California Zone 10 B on the hill (402 ft. elevation)

Sunset zone 24

Nice find Dave!

Look pretty cool.

I tried that cultivar in my garden. It didn't like it at first bht after mulching around it it begain to take off then the swimming pool was installed that ficus was among the trees that didn't enjoy being relocated. It went all wimpy and died. I now don't  really have a suitable position to try again.

It's like a giant Peperomia tricolor.

Wow at first I thought a big Photinia. I've never seen a F.elastica other than as an obligatory pot plant in an office. Great to see one doing its thing!

Larry Shone in wet and sunny north-east England!  Zone9 ish

Tie two fish together and though they have two tails they cannot swim <>< ><>

It's a beautiful tree!  I see them here in San Diego, also.   They typically look best closer (not too close, though) to a solid-colored building
