Hi, Does anyone might know what this strange jelly-like substance might be on my seedling?  It is clear and looks wet.  Could it be some kind of eggs?  Tree-frog eggs? Some kind of insect or pathogen infestation?   I am in Florida, could it be a natural reaction to cold nights this winter?  Attached are some photos. Thanks.

If it were frog eggs, you would see black embryos (little black dots) inside  -  Otherwise - no clue.

Was the seedling by any chance submerged or in a very moist environment? Some aquatic snails lay similar egg masses, but not this large. (That I know of.)

Looks to me like there are grayish spots in them. I think that tree frog eggs is probably correct.

Thanks for the comments.  I didn't see any kind of black spots that might be embryos.  Can a plant excrete gel as a form of protection from borers?  or nematodes?

Had you buried any water retention jelly water that usually used for indoor plants in the soil near the plant? I had the same problem on my dwarfl plum tree.
