This may be the nicest flower in the garden. I am not sure what it is but the leaves remind me of a medinilla, though I am sure it's not. If anyone can tell me what it is and what it likes, I would love to plant it! Thanks in advance!

There are many species, some with rose, red, white or pink flowers, though purple is the most common.

Here's a late one of mine, taken in 2008, dwarfing the 800-pound gorilla on the left and Spanky the Roystonea on the right.

(Be careful. Some get invasive.)

That is a pretty thing, no two ways about it.

But be aware that some "Tibs" can be very aggressive, and I mean very. Especially the ones with clusters of small blossoms (which yours isn't).
