Im mulch collecting today near bamboo's and noticed the "very" blue Davidson's plums on the ground.

Davidson's plums ( Davidsonia) have 2 sp native to here the "stunning" Far Nth NSW and 1 sp native to Far Nth Qld, I find them very palatable, some are very bitter/ but they are "excellent" when made into Jam which this lot will heading for.

The blurry pic nmbr 4657 shows the small thin seed which each fruit has 2 of inside.

A quick triple shot espresso and Im back outside into it :)

edit. the bamboo var is Dendrocalamus brandisii

At first glance they look quite similar to the ordinary European plums, Pete.

But European plums are not that red inside of have only 1 seed in each fruit included. Never heard of the tropical equivalent before :) . Thanks for showing us

I guess they're bigger?

European plums can also be red inside. Depends on the cultivar.

And these indeed look very similar to real plums.

There is a fruiting specimen of some Davidsonia species at Quail BG in Encinitas. Sets viable seed too.

SoCal and SoFla; zone varies by location.

Got one growing here that produced first fruit this year. Must be the other sp because leaves look different to yours. Nice red flush when they emerge too.

Weird how the fruit grows off the trunk.
