Troy, your Broms are looking great, look fwd to seeing the Tiger

Gene, "stunning" broms you posted from the plant show, thank you. Gene, we cant achieve that look you folks get growing Neo's near the equator in lots of light , longer days, warm balmy nights all year, etc which produces the "very spiral" growth with short and far more upright growth which gives them the perfect/ flawless look.

I think that growing neoregelias to "show quality" standards is possible as long as you have enough dedicated space for them. If you have a big open field with nothing nearby to cast a shadow-- you can set up a netted area to provide the filtered light. The trick is to never ever move them so that their symmetry is not affected.

If you can provide them about 8 hours of filtered light a day -- and balanced (not just on one side, like what would happen if you place them beside a building) you can achieve the same results.

I use to have a set up like that to grow perfect neoregelias like the ones in the show but I had to give that up because I was developing the rest of the garden.

the winter didn't slow me down in brom buying i still haven't lost any past the first couple of months and they breezed through the winter without an issue so that's always a good sign. I have learned they don't like alot of reflected heat/light since i had some that were in full sun in the summer but couldn't handle full sun by a wall a couple of weeks ago and some got burned pretty bad but they're pretty much full mature and i've just been waiting for the pups

i'm waiting to finish the patio and building an open roof patio cover and going to make a bunch of display benches for my broms
