Preferably smaller plants - shippable size - would also consider seeds.

Let me know - thanks!

C'mon guys :)

Although it doesn't look like he has any right now, I've gotten them here before (however, after I learned that these trees take 20 years to flower, I decided that growing seedlings was not a good option for me...)

So, it may be worth checking with him to see when he'll have more available (either way - he has lots of very cool stuff and everything I've gotten here has been in great shape, packed well, etc.)

Too bad you're not closer. Fairchild offered them at their fall member's day plant sale this past October. Needless to say, it's one of the plants that ran out the fastest.

Thanks guys!

May I ask how much those Fairchild trees sold for? Do you remember?

Interesting that they sold out that fast - for such a large tree.

$22 for a 3 gallon specimen. The plants leaving the sale were easily 3-4 feet tall.

The seeds are big, a three gallon container is a seedling size. Its a huge tree and is not an ideal candidate for indoor cultivation.

Thanks for your input, Moose.

I grow many huge growing plants so that's not an issue. (It's not as if I didn't know) :)

Still hoping somebody can provide me with a viable lead.

Too bad I didn't think to ask folks on this forum when I sought out mine. I called a dozen nurseries before I found someone willing to order one for me from South Florida. The sapling was of a good size (taller than me with a trunk as think a woman's wrist). But it cost me almost $300 :-( (I believe it moved from A --> B --> C --> me in the transaction, and each party added an understandable premium.) I wonder whether they're ever offered for sale at larger sizes (at least for shipment this far north) and whet the cost for a larger specimen would be.

I have I think 2 left I've grown from root cuttings of one of my trees here. They are 2-3 feet tall. Another one is earmarked for Leu Gardens.  Yes, definitely ask here for the rare/$$$ stuff :)
