I have one pot with this very beautiful lily (correct me if it is something else) that flowers once in months, unfortunately the flower lasts just a day or two. Well thi stime I was lucky to be around. In the background is a Phoenix pusilla that will soon be going into the ground.

Lovely flower Kumar. Is it a Hippeastrum?

I'm definitely not an expert in this field, but I think that is an Amaryllis. They sell them in the middle of winter up in the New York City area to grow indoors so that people can see something grow and flower during the dark cold days of winter...to feel like spring isn't that far way!

Yes Josh... I believe it is Hippeastrum vittatum though I find it easier to call it a lily :)

You are all correct :)

Hippeastrum is a genus in the family Amaryllidaceae, (amaryllis) Hippeastrum vittatum is from Peru.
