Icy Blue Clara

Featured Replies

That's Brahea Clara, and any size will do, though, the bigger the better.

Will, here are three possible sources that might be available. The list starts with closest to you:

  • Jungle Music, scroll down the page to see photos & info
  • Tejas Tropicals, small size offered (but for me it's been faster than expected growth)
  • Seabreeze, scroll down page, I don't know if it's blue

All three are IPS members, and to me, they're great palmy people. Good luck in your search! :wub2:

There are several mature Wodyetia bifurcata in my neighborhood--that helps determine my zone, right?

Thank you for the tips Shirley.

Seabreeze is a new one to me.

I know Jungle Music, and I already was looking on the website, but didn't see Icy Blue specifically, but I'll give them a call.

Tejas Tropicals is closed. I e-mailed the owner 2 weeks ago and this is what he told me.

I can get you a nice clara from Socal if you like. I go down there a lot.

The Brahea Clara 'icy blue' RPS offered a couple years ago had a larger seed and starts out very blue from a seedling, Other Clara's have a little smaller seed and start out green, and may not get as blue. If you drive threw central CA I have a few, wish I had bought 1000 seeds instead of 100.

Thank you turfpro,

I will get hold of you when that happens.

Oh! Tejas Tropicals was so good! Very sorry to learn they closed it. I wish them the very best in their endeavors.
