Cordyline fruitcosa 'Ramona White'-heirloom Ti Plant

Recommended Posts

This is an heirloom Cordyline fruitcosa from my Mom's neighborhood. It was growing at a neighbor's house for decades. It is a very vigorous and drought tolerant form. Most of the year the leaves are almost solid green. But at times the new leaves emerge with lots of white coloring or even solid white with a pink edge. I have never been able to track down what cultivar this is so I have put a name on it, 'Ramona White', named after my Mom's street.

I'm a novice with this genus, but have four Ti plants that were just inspected and approved for transport from Virginia to Puerto Rico. Your 'Ramona White' is very nice!

Everyway I've tried to propagate these (based on help from Palmtalk primarily) has worked beautifully. So I have several of each which will stay in VA for color in my greenhouse this winter.

This is a really cool Ti Plant. Its very drought tolerant and a very vigorous grower. Once it gets some height it is one of the Ti that sprout new stems readily.
