I had this Little Giant in a 24 inch box for 5 years or so, I figured it was time to plant it when I noticed the side walls of the box laying horizontally ... good opportunity to divide and make a couple new plants aswell !

If you want to make any clumping bamboo have a "tighter clump" simply kick over the outer new shoots , we have lots of giant bamboos and none have clumped too wide, our D giganteus seeded and died around 6 yrs ago..Brandisii and Black asper are my favourite of the "Giant Bamboos" :) Pete
