On the way to Kandy by small roads, we noticed nice plants in a curve of the road.

We entered the garden and spoke with the owner;

very nice family, having a nice and uncommon garden, happy to discuss about palms and garden; we came back home with so many Heliconia and Musa! and impossible to pay for the plants: pure gift!

Especially I have been happy to get plants of this Heliconia having ash powder underneath the leaves, beautiful flowers too!
Does someone know the name?

The flowering tree is "Pride of India" or Amherstia nobilis.

Srilankans are really kind people!

Beautiful pics. The heliconia looks like Heliconia collinsiana.
