I need help identifying two terrestrial bromeliads. When I divided the first I saw no ID tag. I'm pretty sure it isn't a Dyckia as the leaves are a bit "fleshier" than usual for Dyckias. Nor has it sent up a flower spike so no clues there. Is it a Hechtia? Orthophytum? Deuterocohnia? Which species?

Mystery Brom #1: mother & offset

I received this second plant as "Dyckia fragrans" which it definitely is not. I don't believe it is even a Dyckia. Also, it appears to be monocarpic as the mother plant is "fading" away after offsetting. The reddish-bronze leaves are thin and have serrated edges that remind me of Cryptanthus but I have doubts it is that either. So, what is it?

First one might be a Bromelia balansae pup. I think I had the other one but it came without a name.

Here's a balansae about to flower. They get big and clump profusely...

The second one might be the bigeneric Cryptobergia rubra. There are some fleshy Dyckias, such as D. platyphylla, but yours has skinnier leaves than typical.
