The Gulf Coast Chapter of the IPS aims to connect palm enthusiasts along the Florida Panhandle and Alabama Gulf Coast. The quarterly meetings are held at botanical gardens and members' homes in locations such as Mobile, Loxley, Panama City, and Pensacola.

The next meeting for the Gulf Coast Chapter will be Sunday, May 6 at the home of Tom and Eileen Mignerey in Cantonment, Florida. The meeting begins at noon with a member provided lunch including Tom's famous lobster hors d'oeuvres followed by a presentation on a variety of palm issues including planting, pollination, and hybridization. After the presentation there will be a brief business meeting followed by the always lively palms and cycad auction.
