20 gallon plant, 4' tall overall, pinnate leaves, planted last summer in full sun. 26.5 minimum and many upper 20s nights. No damage to speak of.

I have a "small 15 gal" and what was a decent 15 gal just put in a 24" box less than a month ago.  2 nights at 28F 2 more under 31F, NO protection, looks great!!

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Defoliated and looks pretty dead after a low of 21*, hopefully it comes back but it isnt looking likely.

Had 2 of these planted as 25g plants 2 bad winters in a row saw 20F with no protection burnt every leaf with no growth after winter subsided. They were beautiful palms very sad they didn't make it :rant:

I have about a 12 year old one in the back yard, the freeze of Feb ‘21 (~3 hours around 23F/-5C) burned the leaves but it recovered completely. Most queens in the neighborhood had about the same amount of damage. It has been unaffected by lesser freezes such as the 28F freeze in December and does well in our alkaline soil.
