Hi all,

I bought this vine from up north (subtropics) and have had it all winter, where it sprouted a few new leaves. It seems to be going well and is even growing more now. It is a small plant, about 10cm high. Does anyone know if they are a fast grower and how cold tolerant they are? My winter has averages of 8-10C (lows) and highs of 16-18c but it did great all winter.

Cheers

I have a big one in my yard, 3 m tall x 2 to 3 m wide. I didn't know it was a vine when I bought it, so I sowed it in the ground as a tree, and it has grown as a tree, with its long shoots wrapping around itselves and to its main trunk. The trunk has become pretty thick and strong (heavy winds from Jan to March). It's been a relatively fast grower to me (not at all like most of my palms), in temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 C most of the time, my lowest temp is 8-10 C rarely. It blooms heavily and gorgeous during our dry season, but it has occasional blooming bursts year round.
