Andrea warocqueanum can be tricky from seed . I use a layer of sphagnum moss over very coarse bark and scoria with some compost mixed in .

Good luck :winkie:

Even though we are on the leeward/dry side of the island, we get a lot of moisture because of convective currents that pull it up the mountain when the land gets hot. It also dews every night which anthuriums love. But it is so weird that just down the mountain it looks like a desert.

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

Angela,

Thanks for posting the beautiful pictures. I love anthuriums, but only have on native big on that I know of. I checked the plant list from the Ducke forest reserve which in the munipality of Manaus, 10,000 hecatores and there are 55 species listed in 12 genuses of the araceae family growing here. I do not k now how many of the species are anthuriums though as the list I found did not break that out. There are a total of 2079 species of plants so far indentified growing in the reserve. All of the plants in this family are great and I love seeing them in the forest. And, I need to collect more of them.
