Hello!

I got tired of getting no germinators with Attalea and Acrocomia and i would like to get germinated seeds, seedlings or young palms of Attalea rostrata,Attalea colenda, any tall growing and uncommon species of Acrocomia with deciduous dead leafs and big, black persistent spines forming rings on the trunk, as well as Astrocaryum mexicanum. For the Astrocaryum, seeds are also welcome!

Thank you very much in advance!smilie.gif

Hello,

I have Acrocomia aculeata seeds that have been planted for 2 or 3 months now, and therefore they should be doing something soon. If you want to try some out, I'm happy to send you some. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks, Jude

I actually just pulled 2 seeds to see if I couldn't open one up and see what it was like inside, and I actually wasn't able to - talk about ROCK HARD! I even banged away with a big hammer - didn't make a dent or a crack at all.

I am PM'ing you with information on some other things. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the offer Jude!smilie.gif

Please let me know if you get any extra germinators! I also have a whole lot of Acrocomia vinifera seeds but havent gotten any to germinate in 2-3 years now...I have the spot in the ground ready for all those but still no germinators...sad.gif

About he hardiness of those seeds,i tried to break open an Attalea rostrata seed some time ago with a log. I was dropping the log on the seed over rock...and the seed didnt even get scratches for repeated drops of the log on itlaugh.gif Ended up placing it back in for germination....
