I know that most of you (?) live in the tropics, so hopefully some of you will be able to respond.

Does anybody find, and/or grow Sea Hearts / Sea Bean / Entada gigas (Or other similar species)?

I have some seeds, but have never been able to grow any, and information on the internet is very inconclusive, with the exception that a few people say "I grew one, once."

If you grow these, I'd love to hear from you. My seeds are old, by now - since I have given up, although they should still be viable, given the morphology of this seed. Is this something I will just dream about, or can a plant be obtained somehow?

Thanks!

I find these seeds (and others) washed up on the beach all the time. If you send me a PM with your address, I can mail you a few seeds the next time I find some.

Hi,

I grew these seeds last year but lost them this past winter because of a problem of heater in the greenhouse.

They're very easy to germinate if you know one thing, the shell is very hard and water cannot pass through it. You must scratch the outer shell until you see some white. Next you put them in water for some days and plant them in a moist medium. Mine sprouted within few weeks.

They where Entada rheedi I guess.

Also, I found them quite easily propagated by cuttings.(I broke one, just planted it directly in the soil without doing anything and it rooted quite fast)
