I wish to purchase a large plant of Howea belmoreana, anywhere in California. It should be at least 6 inches in diameter at the soil line and in a container. I don't care if it is sun or shade grown, as it would be installed in a shady area with overhead canopy. This species is variable in the degree of frond recurvedness, I want the extreme 'fishhook' look.

I would also consider a transpanted palm dug out of your garden for a lower price than a container plant. (Here is your chance for the space for one more kinky, rare Dypsis ! )

I will also pay a finder's fee to a person who can connect me with a third person with the palm. I have already contacted 10 or 12 specialty palm nurseries in SoCal, so don't bother with the usual suspects.

Thanks for any assistance!

Darold, I have 2 large ones in containers. 1 is in a 35gal. pot & 1 is in a 40gal. They have not trunk yet, both are near that stage. I am flexible on price if you are interested. I have had both palms for a long time. You can reach me @949 235 6187. Thanks, Ron

Thanks Ron. Your plants sound really good! I purchased a palm from you years ago, and remember your very well grown stock. So far I have located 4 plants matching my descripton. I plan to examine them all before selecting one. I will be back in SoCal in early February, and will contact you then.

best wishes,

Darold

I purchased a larger plant than those offered by Jeff and Ron. However, their plants were really nice and fairly priced. I encourage others to contact them for this species!
