Frito, Ever been to Pahokee?

What you look for is what is looking

I'll try to grab you some different varieties. Most commercial farmers here grow the latest LSU varieties. Most are hard as a rock, as compared with the old purple varieties that you could actually cut with a pocket knife and chew. A few outlets still propagate and sell the old stuff.

Buuba, not pahokee but I been to Clewiston, they all grow the hard commercial varities, But I wouldnt mind a piece or two.

Keith, I got the Purple variety, ribbon, and green.

Im looking for anything crazy or unqiue, Ive seen solid green with red strips, solid black with with rings that looks like black bamboo.

thanks

Well Luke, I think you have just become my new supplier, lol. That's pretty cool actually. You may be the only Sugar Cane variety collector I know, but I'd like to be the second.

I just scored some new sugar cane, really thick dark purple stalks. Have no idea of variety. Anyway, my question is how to plant it. I assume I can't let it sit around for another 2 months until temps warm up enough to plant it out in the ground. So, if I start it in pots temporarily, what is the best technique.
