Hello, everyone:

First, welcome to all new members who signed up this weekend! We are so glad to have you!

And, for those who re-joined, welcome back! You were missed and it's good to see you again.

The Palm Society of Southern California will be selecting its Board of Directors by election this fall.

We welcome and encourage any PSSC members who are interested to run for the Board. The PSSC is a non-profit corporation, so positions on the Board are on a volunteer basis. The benefits include communing with the most enthusiastic palm enthusiasts, and making friendships that can last a lifetime.

You can help us with the people, organizing or numbers skills you've developed over a lifetime, or learn new ones as you go. Or both. There is a place for everyone who wants to participate. All help is appreciated.

Being a Board member will provide a place to make a difference in the palm world in a concrete way. You can also participate in the production of our world-renowned PSSC Palm Journal.

Board members are elected by the PSSC's membership by secret ballot election.

If you have questions, please shoot me a PM. We need to hear from interested candidates by the middle of August, 2010 so we can prepare the ballots.
