Looking for true "Medjool" palm seeds (NOT Deglet Noor or Zahidi variety) to be grown in FL. Please email if you have any you would like to give or sell.

True, but my research indicates that I'd likely be getting P. Dactylifera "Deglet Noor" not "Medjool". The Deglet Noor variety does not perform well in Florida and has a thinner canopy. I'm having a hard time finding guaranteed medjool seed and/or most are unaware of the difference. 4-5 years to is a long time to wait to find out you got the wrong seed!

Phoenix palms do not grow true to seed so you would be wasting your time.Named varieties such as "medjool" or "deglet noor" are grown from cuttings taken from a known female parent plant.Besides, half of the plants you would grow from seed anyways would be male, so it is an even furthur expense getting rid of them as they would produce nothing except pollen.
