I knew Horace many moons ago when I lived in Houston Tx. He was president of the local palm society then.

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

He has a cameo appearance in Plate 272 in RLR's book, a field shot in Cuba no less. BTW, in that book there are a few photos that have people and they all look more interesting. Check out Plate 764, the gentleman is so enjoying all the palms around him.

I met Horace briefly in Houston right before he moved to S FL, he gave me a bunch of cool palms including Sabal guatemalensis. Great guy, very enthusiastic about palms
