Demos chinensis, Ylang Ylang Shrub is flowering. The flowers looks very similar to the Ylang Ylang Tree, Canaga odorata and smell similar but are weakly scented. I think they might be more fragrant in the evening. This is a small shrub only growing 3-5ft tall and it has tolerated low 30sF with no damage.

Not to be confused with the Dwarf Ylang Ylang Tree, Cananga odorata var. fruticosa

I have the big tree, Cananga odorata, the dwarf var fruticosa, and the other Ylang relative, Artobotrys hexapetalus.

I have always wanted to have Desmos chinensis instead of A. hexapetalus.

Is there a source for it, REASONABLY priced?

Gardino's have Desmos chinensis available once in a while. It is amazing how similar it looks like Cananga odorata fruitcosa. I hope its fragrance is much better as I can not stand C. o. f.
