I bought several of these vines over a year ago. They aren't very big yet and a couple of them actually don't seem to be growing much.

This is the largest and I just spotted some weird things at the tips.

Turns out that they are flower buds!! So flowers soon!!

Update pictures to follow as they open.

Yep, but won't (apparently) make it in SoFla, according to Dolores Fugina, others. Too tropical.

Gene, I remember seeing that vine growing on trees in Malaysia when visiting there many years ago. It caught my attention then and still does but I've never seen it in Hawaii. Well, if you ever get any seeds let me know, I'd love to grow that vine here. I do have both the blue and red Jade vines and they are nice growing into the trees also. Now all I need is an nice orange - Bauhinia kockiana!

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).

Summer maximum rainfall - variable averaging 900-1150mm (35-45") - Perfect drainage on black volcanic rocky soil.

Nice sunsets!

Whoa - what a gorgeous plant. Please me add to the seed list.

Thanks for sharing all of the photos.
