I want to get into bamboo some also, I have some large spots in the yard that could accomadate this nicely! any good sites with a lot of info? Who are some good growers in South Florida?

I love Bamboo, get into it Rob it will get you hooked too, I think John might be referring to running bamboo as dangerous.

The danger I was referring to was the myth (not busted) that bamboo can pierce and go through the body of a person lying on top of a new shoot. It was rumored to be a torture used by Japanese tropps during WWII.

We composed a backup acrhive extract of the segment that takes about 12 minutes.....very dangerous (especially if you have Japanese WWII army personnel mad at you).

BTW, they chose a running bamboo as the subject bamboo, so I guess you were right afterall. :winkie:
