Hello CarloSpain,

I guess it is a Nance, Byrsonima crassifolia.

I could see that there are some flowers in the second picture. The leaves look lot like it. People in Costa Rica like but it s an acquiered taste. In spanish the taste is called "amarroso", dificult to describe but close to bitter.

This is the best id I could do, but it could be another member of the Malphigia family.

Compare the tree with the photos of "Nance", and Byrsonima .
