I never thought about trying one. I thought they were an "ultratropical". Then I saw one at McKee Gardens in Vero Beach that had been outside for a few years. I got some seedlings from a nursery in Hawaii. One was planted out last summer. It got set back as a bvranch fell off a tree in a storm last winter and broke it. It is growing and survived one 31F windy night this past winter fine. The one in the photo was in the greenhouse and grew faster. I guess the leaves get smaller with age.
