Well, we all know that there are plenty of bad tasting things that are bad for you, and good tasting things that are good for you.  But still, the old adage of "If it tastes bad it must be good" remains popular.

I was wondering if this holds true with fertilizer.  No, I have not been eating manure as you might think.  Over the weekend I put out 4 thirty gallon garbage cans full of liquid/soluble fert.  My magical mix consisted of 20-20-20 at half rate, some chelated palm stuff (Home Depot) and some really smelly Alaskan fish emulsion.  Now is this smelly stuff any good or have I been sold a bill of goods?

If you ask "Just how smelly is that stuff?" I will tell you without exagerating....VERY SMELLY.  In fact, 2 vultures were flying by and smelled it.  They circled the yard and then landed in one of my pines.  They were hoping that the fish smell signaled the dinner bell.  I never saw that before.

Jerry, it's a tried and true fert, nice and mild and will not burn by itself. My family always buried fish guts in the garden. I believe you'll find it beneficial. I'm not a chemist though so I can't say how it will react with the rest of your concoction  :D  Please follow up after the season!
