Just thought I'd post a few pictures of a Jabong tree and fruit, (Citrus maxima), that's growing in the sideyard of the Hilo house. I guess they are fairly common, but I had never seen the fruit before seeing these on the tree.

The fruit is heavy, rind is very thick, and the inside is a pale green and tastes like grapefruit. We'll pick one and leave it on the kitchen counter where it fills the house with a nice fresh citrus smell.

That is what we call a Pomelo in Florida.I believe it is originally from SE Asia and sometimes called the Chinese Grapefruit.It is not particularly sought after because it is mostly rind but it is out of the ordinary.
