Looking for Avocado seedling

I don't think that is so unusual, especially with overhead protection and a morning warmup.  My tree was a supermarket avocado planted in the 60's or early 70's.  The fruit has black skin when tree-ripe, so I think it is probably Haas.  It has seen the all-time Houston low of the mid-teens and three days and nights below freezing, so 21F overnight is nothin'.

David! I'm glad that two of them germinated! I was hoping there could be more  "Gainesville" variety Avocado's out there. Hopefully they'll grow fast and fruit in no time!

I'm always up for learning new things!

3 NOW.....but one of my "clones" has died. Been a few days since I checked them. Maybe more have sprouted.

Update: The other clone died as well, when I pulled it out, it had no roots......strange......it had already developed a few leaves.

I'll try and take pictures in spring.
