You can find the fruit in the supermarket "carrefour". But it's better to buy a graft tree.

it is precisely to make rootstocks that I will graft in three years with "sunflower".
As it is not the season now in France for these fruits which can't be stored for a long period,
I don't think there are some for now,( Tell me if you have seen some these days)
It is why I ask here, hoping that in the southern US they have fruits all around the year

This is a very common plant in my area, so much so that I have volunteers regularly emerging from my landscaping. It is also a very common plant and easily located from various nurseries throughout the south east. If I locate some fruit around the house or in the nearby woods I will let you know.
Usually this plant goes unnoticed as it is not particularly showy, and the fruit in my area tend to be light green when ripe and do not really stand out. Additionally, they are a favorite of squirrels and the do not last long on the branch.
Seeds of this plant can usually be found for sale on ebay, although it may be tough to find someone who will ship internationally.

Easiest distinction is that some only get about 1m or so tall, while others are trees and some grow in xeric areas while others prefer mesic understory locations.

Fruits are smaller than A. triloba but taste is similar and quite good. Overall tree is typically smaller than A. triloba.
