Areca or Kentia

So i am debating wether to buy a kentia or areca palm. It will be outdoors during the summer but indoors for the rest of the year. I really like the stems of areca palms, the way they curve and are sooner present compared to the kentia but i heared that arecas don’t do that well indoors. Do you have any experiences? I am also open to other palm suggestions, i really want a big feather palm with trunk

I don't have experience with either palm in a pot  except for a Chrysalidocarpus lutescens (AKA Areca palm) that I grew from seed and stays outside all year until it gets big enough to put in the ground.  Kentias are supposed to be good indoor palms as well as Parlor palm (Chamadorea elegans) and Lady palm (Rhapis excelsa) although the latter is a fan palm.  Good luck and make sure whatever palm you choose that you plant it in a quality mix that drains well and doesn't stay wet.  Avoid Majesty palm (Ravenea rivularis) as they're popularly sold as houseplants but do poorly indoors.

Howea fosteriana and if you like the curved look of the leaf get a bellmoreana. A much better choice for indoors!
