So literally like 30 mins ago I was doing a bit of my daily garden inspection and I noticed these white mushrooms growing near the base of my sylvester palm trunk. I know sylvester’s are like ticking time bombs but I love them so i’m just wondering if this is anything to worry about or not. IMG_8933.thumb.jpeg.af864e23ea1d34177ae9657295df1a9a.jpeg

And below is a fuller view of the spot, it’s kinda a covered spot bc I have a mounted staghorn leaning on the trunk.

@TropicsEnjoyer they look like small "normal" mushrooms on a stem coming out of the dirt.  If that's the case, nothing to worry about.  It's only a concern if the mushroom is a shelf-looking conk coming sideways out of the palm.  Your photo doesn't look like the dreaded Ganoderma conk.

I noticed a mushrooms the last few days after all the rain. A little lime may help as they prefer acidic soil.

They look fine to me a good sign of healthy environment. The only thing I would worry about is if I ate them. There is currently a court case in Australia where a lady killed three of her husband’s relatives and tried to bump him off as well with a beef Wellington dinner using the deadly death cap mushrooms, she foraged for them and said it was a mistake. But if you have been listening to the evidence she is guilty as she poisoned the hubby once before. It’s an interesting case in court now and we all know she did it. I will be surprised if she gets away with it. Oh and she coincidentally didn’t have the same meal as them night what a strange coincidence.

Mushrooms are a natural occurrence in healthy soil and are beneficial to the plants they surround. @happypalms who do you think gave that woman the recipe ? 😈

It wasn’t me who gave her the recipe, you never know what you will find on the internet if you look up devilsadvocate.grimreaper 😄
