I really miss our old greenhouse. I could spend hours in there fussing with the plants . It really sped up the growing of the seedlings. Harry

There is so much joy in a collection of plants only another gardener such as yourself Harry can understand the true feeling.

Yea, my wife thought I had gone around the bend! I would take a cup of tea and sometimes just gaze at my large Licuala Grandis with the small patiole and large circular fronds as they reached for the sun. I used a slight shade cloth , nothing drastic just enough to keep the palms and orchids from burning. The floor was about 6” of pea gravel that I would wet down in dry weather , by the afternoon it would be almost “raining” in there and I would open the west facing window and turn on the fans to circulated the air. It was like being in the tropics . I could grow Vetchia , Ptychosperma , Licuala , Wodyetia ,and others that I no longer have. The ceiling was about 12’ in the center with a Gambrel roof design . I built it when I was going through a ‘bout of depression in my forties. It came out quite nice , actually . The difference in growing certain palms was just amazing! I would say , rivaling Hawaii. It was just a fraction the size of yours and I already had plans of expansion when the new house bug bit. Harry

Yep I just wonder around in the greenhouse, my favourite thing to do is spot for weeds my number one grow chore I love to do, I can relax weeding plants for some reason. I always wanted a gravel floor for humidity release in the heat. But then I got the hernia and that was the end of that idea of a gravel floor, I was definitely in no condition to move tonnes of gravel due to access I could only wheelbarrow it in. Each grow design plays a big part in how well your plants grow its a crucial role it’s all about air flow. I have so many varieties iam growing in my new collection, I did the same nursery setup 25 years ago, now this the second collection iam starting. The old collection is pretty well much all planted in the garden I still have plants from the original collection in pots. But it’s the new collection that’s all the good rare stuff this time around. So iam in for another 25 years of growing. Around five years ago I  hit the wall with sickness and a divorce after 24 years with the wife, it’s only now iam  standing back up on my feet getting on with the life. I live for my garden and my garden lives for me.
