Which plants have surprised you with their resilience?

Do you have any plants (palms or not) that have surprised you with their resilience to the cold so far this winter? Any plants that you accidentally left outside unprotected maybe, or perhaps you just decided they will be left on their own this winter and yet they've made it just fine?

For me it's Albizia moluccana. I have some tiny seedlings, no more than an inch tall, which have been left outside. Despite their age and the fact that they are tropical trees from the equator, they look fine and even keep growing. True, they haven't seen anything lower than 3 C  (37 F), but it's still a surprise for me. A new cold wave has just started here and it will last for few days, so I'll wait and see.

Sabal yapa, Thrinax radiata and Attalea butyracea show no signs of damage from a -2⁰C (28⁰F) freeze that happened 2 weeks ago. Acrocomias didn't show any damage either but that's not as surprising.

I hope it stays like that. I guess cold damage can manifest itself several months later. Attalea supposedly can only take down to 0C. Was the -2C recorded in your own garden?

-2⁰C was the average in the city. It was probably -1⁰C in my area though.
