Pygmy date palm yellowing?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello all,

Anyone know how to fix a pygmy date palm growing in a pot with yellowing tips? It also kinda weeps and the new leaves it produces are often small compared to the older ones.

I know these guys can be finicky when it comes to getting nutrients.

Thank you!!

If that was mine, I'd start with Magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) 1 tbsp per gallon of water. It's not a quick fix and heading the cooler months, I typically dial back on my watering and fertilizer.

Transplanted into this pot in the spring, had been sitting in this location since the spring as well.

@laspalmas has it correct in my opinion it’s a common fertiliser deficiency in my area as well one of the  easily recognised deficiencies along with nitrogen. The good old NPK.
