Time to repot already?

So I bought this Phoenix a few months ago from a grower and it was in a 7 gallon pot. I put it into a 15 and it's already showing roots on the drainage holes.

I've seen advice on here that's typically when it's time to repot but it seems rather sudden to me.  Any thoughts?

Phoenix are very aggressive root growers!  It wants to go in the ground but I think it is fine where it is until spring.

Thanks for the reply! Once I make sure the one I already planted can handle the winter, I've got a spot in mind for this one in the spring.

Doesn't look necessary to repot yet, but you could repot in slightly larger pot until you put it in the ground.  I'd just wait until Spring at this point.
