Palm trunk hole

Recommended Posts

I was transporting my majesty palm to another location when my finger sunk into a soft spot on the trunk, I scraped away all the loose stuff and left it to dry out, the hole was around the size and depth of a thumb. I’m not sure exactly what caused it, but my guess was because of the constant pooling of water due to having no air circulation and sunlight to evaporate the water left after watering it, as it was in the corner of my porch.  Should I leave it the way it is or fill it in? Thanks!!

Bondo maybe, Then whitewash/paint part the trunk to make it look good again.

Perhaps a light layer of epoxy could work as well sealing up the hole?

In a year, you'll probably see adventitious roots growing out of the base. I wouldn't worry.
