Lay a thick layer of cardboard down then mulch, that will kill the grass.

Hi everyone!

My Washingtonia is doing good.

no yellow leaves, some new leaves grown, regularly fertilized, covered the ground around the trunk with coconut coir, but now with raining season I removed it and some little roots are exposed, is it best to top it with some more compost or soil?

i will then need to put some mulching as a winter protection, any advice on that?

I ended up covering the exposed roots with compost, i think rain washed away some soil
