How aggressive should I be with fungi?

Hi guys,

I've seen a miracle today. I removed the winter boxes from my palms and they are all alive. This is such a weird feeling to see palms after a winter. This is my first time.

Anyway, some of the palms got infected with fungi, because it was very moist inside the boxes.

I cut the infected leafs and sprayed the palms with hydrogen peroxide very thoroughly.

Do you think this is enough, or I should do anything else?

Also, I think the fungi can be in the earth now, I've seen some. Do I need to maybe water the palms with some fungicide mixed in the water so it will clear the earth?

Kind regards,

Pavel

A fungicide would help. Pics even more.

@Swolte is there anything wrong with hydrogen peroxide? It does kill fungi. I'll probably post pictures tomorrow.

There's no scientific studies that truly compared untreated vs Hydrogen peroxide vs fungicide on several palms so we are all guessing here to some extent.  We have had growers managing 100s of palms on these forums, however, who have done these quasi experiments or reported their experience and I was always left with the impression that the copper fungicide may make the most difference (please don't ask me to dig up the old threads). I don't use peroxide, for example, and I have seen palms recover from near death with 'just' fungicide. Anyway, can't hurt to use a bit of both.

Peroxide has worked for me several times on spear pulled Palms. I feel it is absolutely effective and I have never resorted to chemical fungicides because I haven’t needed to as Peroxide alone was effective with only one or two treatments.

Please see the picture of the European Fan palm.

I did spray it with Hydrogen Peroxide once. Do you think it's enough for now?

Perhaps the best action would be to wipe the leafs with some fungicide/hydrogen peroxide/alcohol, but that will take a lot of time, and I'm not sure if that's necessary.
