It's been a weather see-saw here in Atlanta.  Yesterday and today were in the mid 70's F.  Tomorrow should be in the low 60's.  It's going to cool down though this weekend.  Weather.com is predicting a high of 47F and a low of 33F for Saturday.  That will be a good day for yard work.

We are supposed to get some rain tonight and over the weekend.  That will be very welcome here.  Our water supply continues to dwindle, so we really need it.  We've been asked to lower our consumption inside by 10% and outdoor use is completely banned.

Austin supposed to only have high in the low 40s, with a 100% chance of rain on Sat! Sounds like a Winter day in Portland! Think I'll stick it out in FL 'till next week...

It went down to -6°C/21°F here last night.  That is the equal lowest I have seen here in twelve years, although it does go down to that most winters.  It could easily have gone lower than that last night, as it had already reached that temperature by 3:00am.  Fortunately the clouds returned and it had gone up to a balmy -3°C/27°F by dawn.

As I was driving over to the Manaus airport at 2 PM the time/temperature sign by the road read 37 C or 98.6 F.  It has been  a pretty warm Saturday.

And here in Louisiana we are in our second day of lows around 40 and highs around 51, and rainy, and windy.  One word describes it perfectly, yuck.   Tomorrow we hit the low 70s for a day and then right back to the same for a few more days.  This is a typical winter in Louisiana, a cold and damp see saw, but I ain't complaining.  Just enough cold to make one apprciate the warmth when it returns.

OK, it's official, our weather is messed up.  After last night's low of -6°C/21°F, tonight didn't drop below 9°C/48°F.

I have noticed more and more recently that my location is not ideal for palm growing.  When the weather is mild, we seem to be the warmest place locally and when it is cold, we are the coldest place.  Overall our average temperature is higher than the surrounding areas, which are at higher altitude, but the nasty dumping of cold air to lower altitudes on clear nights means that our ultimate lows are frequently lower.

Well the growing season ended here the day after thanksgiving, first day I used the house heating system this fall.  We finally went into the 40's for a low, all the way down to 41F for two nights of the last 4.  Highs have been 62-70F depending on cloudcover.  this week it looks like a warming trend in the lows due to increased moisture in the air: 48-56F lows and 67-74F highs are forecast this week.  I painted the exterior walls(top is clear plastic + 1 layer of net) of my shadehouse black and my seedlings have been seeing 76-80F((outside was 62-70F) for the highs during this time, with 42-48F lows.  There have been some clouds, but no rain so far in Nov, and one day of winds over 10 mph.  The relative humidity is currently 26% @ 64F and partly cloudy at 12:00 noon arizona time.

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??

Thanks Don.  I'm not upset about the lack of rainfall anymore.  November hasn't been all that different from the preceding bust of a summer.  It's been one of the worst rainfall years in quite sometime.

Pretty much uneventful in California.  Systems are fast-moving with periods of wind/quite low humidity followed by weak fronts of cooler/moist air but no rain  :(  There is a chance of moisture as a cutoff upper low [that retrograded across the far Southwest into Baja last weekend] finally gets picked-up in the westerlies and moves into northern Mexico [san Diego could pick-up a stray shower Friday night

What's left of a cold north Pacific storm moves into the inter-mountain West Saturday & California could experience cool temps for a day before offshore winds re-assert dominance over SoCal [w/ more extremely dry/warm conditions  :o

Have yet to observe a minimum below 50F/10c but downtown did record 48F a few nights ago [also San Francisco & San Diego were in the upper 40's - winter comes  :o

Radiation winter has arrived in Central Florida. Last weekend saw 31in in Brooksville (hernando county appx 55 miles N of Tamp) and 54FR in St Pete. My middle school I teach at had frost! It is in the far north near the next county. A teacher who also grows tomatoes had to cover hers, and she said those leaves not covered burned. I barely touched 40F in the open back yard and the front (treed) was 43Funder brilliantly clear skies. By sunday PM it was 80F and the dewpoint back up to 60F. However, this week was Warm and humid, 80-83F with dewpoints near 70F and nights near 70F. Not even .10" of rain total for Nov after over 6" in Oct....winter has arrived! See-saw temps and a lack of rain. While they are predicting a warmer winter, it only takes ONE COLD SNAP to zap us! Stay away! Greg 78.9F currently with humidity at 70% at 5pm
