There seems to be a question to the authenticity of some of the seeds on the market. Ill probably get them from a UK source, Gillian plants. If so, what was the process like to import their seeds or plants?
ChicagoPalma
No, but I've heard from older posts that they have accurate plants and fast shipping.

I'm not sure he ships to the states, as I discussed this with him a while back about some dwarf Butia and Syagrus plants. He has his own source for seed in Brazil and even with that he doesn't always recieve the seeds that are shipped to him. With that, the US requires All importation of plants and seeds to have a phytosanitary certification to avoid confiscation. They've cracked down quite a bit on enforcement....and even if you have the paperwork if it's not exact they confiscate and destroy. (It's happened twice for me with shipments from RPS). I'm sure there are US growers that might be willing to ship you seeds from their palms...I would just hate for you to gamble and not get your plants or seeds from an overseas source.

There really is no us provider that is selling them.

I believe part of the issue us most dwarf Butia and Syagrus are rare in cultivation, and those that do have them in their collections have them purely for that purpose, not for production of new plants for sale. It's a similar void that I hope to fill someday, as mine are now maturing from seed purchased about 7 years ago. I'm not trying to dishearten you either, just giving you advice on what I've seen and experienced personally. 1

Darold Petty
I sold all these seeds as a bulk transaction to a fellow Palmtalker, whose PT name was "Monkey Ranch". However, he seldom posts here any longer. San Francisco, California
